Opteron 165 and DFI Lanparty

Have any of you tried the stock cooler that comes with the 165. It is supposed to be pretty good. Its got 4 heat pipes.

I'm using it on my opty 165 until I get around to water-cooling it, it's fine: 280*9 @ 1.375V idle 20°C, load 40°C. I'm sure it'll go a fair bit higher but waiting until I have some time to play with it ;)

AFAIK there isn't a S939 board that has had problems **unofficially** supporting the opteron. I have an Asus A8n32-SLI with an early opty 165(cabwe spmw0534) @ 2.6. If the board supports dual core (X2) chips then the s939 will also be supported as they are essentially also the same core (toledo). Can highly recommend the Asus (4 sata II ports) but if your looking to run SLI with dual slot coolers then perhaps you better look elswhere as the pci slots are a little cramped. I have a 512mb 7800GTX and if I had another one for SLI I fear I would have to forfeit another pci slot :( . At £500 a go tho it'll be a long time before I got the 2nd one :D
