Hey guys,

I've finally got my noise/static issues sorted with a Crative Labs Audigy FX 5.1 PCIe sound card and Kingsont HyperX Cloud headset.

Now I'm just trying to work out how best to configure the setup. Windows 8.1 is detecting the headset/speaker as 5.1 setup despite being headphones. As far as I can tell 5.1 isn't working if I disable the SBX studio pro.

I'm at a loss how I should set all this up. Should I just leave windows seeing it as 5.1 instead of changing to stereo? Then I guess I can just enable/disable the SBX Studio pro to switch between stereo / virtual surround?

V1, going via front panel connected to the new sound card.

Default settings via windows when checking config was 5.1 (with the option of stereo).

By default the sound card enables it's SBX surround stuff.

So when using headset should I change the windows setting to stereo or leave it at 5.1?
Also I currently have it set to 24bit 48k studio quality, is that right?

Cheers!

Seems to be working absolutely fine in front panel atm, with no audible loss of quality of interference.

Thanks so much for all your help.
