I was just wondering if there is any way to optimise HDD performance?
I currently have 2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II (ST3500418AS) in my system running as IDE drives, not RAID as I know nothing about RAID really lol.
Now Windows give me a performance value of 5.9 for my HDD transfer rate which is quite a bit lower than the rest of my system which is 7.3 Processor, 7.5 RAM, 7.7 Graphics Card (Desktop & 3D).
Now I know how to optimise the likes of my CPU, RAM, GPU etc but is there anything I can do for my HDD, not that it is slow or anything this is just something I am curious about
Thanks
Stu
