Does anyone else have connection problems with Orange 3G.

Im in an area with excellent coverage for both at work and at home, but half of the time when i try and connect to websites the phone just waits ages for the orange servers to respond back.

i thought it was just me but 2 other people at work who have phones with orange also have the same problems, then another who is on O2 has no problems at all.

Most people do. Plenty of threads on here saying same thing.
Where in the uk are you?

AT LAST, someone else with the same problem as me, unfortunately orange told me to go sod off as 3G reliability is not a requirement of the network and they will only do something if 2G goes down.

THIS is teh bother Ive had for over 6 months now and they refuse to budge in either trying to fix it or letting me out of the contract.

Just out of curiosity, your not around the Newcastle area are you?

Same. E, 2G and H work fine but 3G doesn't work. The problem is you have to decide to have patchy 3G/H signal with the hope of it switching to H when you most need it, or turn that off and rely entirely on 2G :/

I run with the rely on 2G as if im on 3G then I cant recieve phone calls or texts. My contracts up in June so ill be off to voda in not too long

I'd double check vodaphone is ok for you. I have a friend who has really bad 3g with them, to the point he's considering cancelling the contract. I'm with giffgaff and he couldn't believe how good it is compared to vodaphone.

Switched the settings on my phone to 3G only as internet using GPRS is painfully slow. Sometimes I do have connection problems on Orange and this is when out and about in London. It does get rather annoying when you have to refresh many times.

newcastle area aswell

Well I've had Orange admit that this area is suffering from a massive over congestion of the network, but also got told that due to them not guaranteeing the reliability of their 3G network and theres nothing they can do and ill just have to live with it. I've got a friend who works for Orange and I mentioned it to her with the response of "I've had loads of people with this problem and they can't fix it and rarely offer any compensation". It's a joke.

I'm about 7 miles away from Newcastle, get absolutely perfect signal. More often than not i get full HPDSA (Sp?), might have something to do with the mast about 1 mile from us which is Orange :D

I'm having grief with not receiving text messages until the phone is 'active'

I can get a call from someone and during the call several messages will come through like they have been queued up :/

I used to think it was my old Hero but this is on a brand new iphone with a brand new sim.

I'm ditching Orange as soon as I can.
