Orange Best Plan Review

So....I've got pretty much annoyed with my orange contract as my useage has changed over the past 6months and I've been calling a lot more and also texting over my limits! I was on a Student 120 talk plan and I basically got 120anytime minutes and 1000 texts for £25! What really annoyed me however was the fact that the Dolphin plan was coming in at £30 (online price) and now offers 600anytime minutes and also Unlimited texts. This change would see me saving at least £20 a month on how my usage is currently!

So I decided I'd give them a quick call and see what I could do about it and they actually were pretty helpful and changed it no problem however they were looking to charge me the £35 in store price but I quickly reminded them I seen it online for £30 a month and they were happy to honour that! Bonus thing however is the fact it's basically a change on my current contract and I didnt have to enter any new term or anything so my next upgrade or contract review will be in January next year. This goes into effect on my next bill date on May 8th!

This should hopefully in turn save me a good chunk of cash per month which is a relief and I was surprised at how easily I could sort it out through best plan! So considering I couldnt get out the contract for a while I think this has provided me a nice change at a very welcome time in my contract. I definately wouldnt hesitate calling them if you feel your gonna be stuck on a talk plan you dont want, especially if there is something better they can offer you!

Basically i needed any new plan over £30 so i could get Unlimited Broadband from them for £5. The only one that was working out at over £30 was a non student one, giving only 300 mins and 50 texts lol this was in store. So the guy instore called through to customer services for me and handed me his phone, i explained it all and they said what they would do would be to give me this package and keep the student texts on it Oh and also gave me a 10% discount every month too.. very happy!

So im on some weird plan giving me 300 Any Network Any Time Minutes and 1050 texts for £27.

I like orange... roll on my upgrade soon... about 6 weeks away

Good to hear mate! I was getting annoyed at my bills so much it was unreal, £55, £70, £66! Just had to change it! lol! I was surprised that the best plan review thing actually worked and they matched the £5 off per month you get only online too! I think if you dont settle for what they say and make sure you have all the stuff researched before you do so then it can work out ok!
If I had phoned before I checked online I would have been paying £35 a month from next month instead of the £30!

Ah an upgrade mate, what are you thinking of getting? I would suggest anything other than the Sony Ericsson k850i! I'm hating my phone right now, cant wait to get rid of it

Yeah you got a damn good deal That wee £5 saved every month mounts up... it only seems like a £5, but even 6 months is a saving of £30!

Upgradewise... im stuck! I did have my heart set on the K850i like you mentioned, but this was months ago... i know too many people with problems, the touch screen bits mainly! What issues you been having?

I did consider Nokia... but i always feel those are too slow for general usage... i love nice speedy phones!

Nokia's slow

They are the fastest phones on the market for texting and basic use. The 6230i/6233/6500 classic are three of the best phones i've ever used. Everything can be setup to do in one or two button presses.

Upgradewise... im stuck! I did have my heart set on the K850i like you mentioned, but this was months ago... i know too many people with problems, the touch screen bits mainly! What issues you been having?

I did consider Nokia... but i always feel those are too slow for general usage... i love nice speedy phones!

Well i have issues with the fact the fone is sloooooooooooooow! Also the camera sometimes doesnt actually open, and also some things like randomly resetting etc! I will be sending the phone for repairs soon but in the meantime im just putting up with it. Also comparing my mates with mines in terms of camera flash, well mines seems to be way too sensitive and everyone becomes ghost like as they become a white mess! Not ideal! That is on the same settings as his. So yeah a big bunch of issues.

My only experience with Nokia's is the n73 which while being a fairly decent phone, the interface etc was very cumbersome and quite labourous! I dont know whether this is the case with all the Symbian OS phones i.e the N series, but apparently the N95 is damn good!

LG on the other hand seem to have come up trumps with the LG Viewty which is basically a much better version of their Prada handset and is much more responsive with an awesome camera. Tho the touch screen is a love it, hate it affair. My mate has one, I quite like it

Samsung are always a bit of a favourite for many people however and some of their newer phones are pretty great! But the main thing is you have 6weeks until your upgrade so thats a long time and there may be something else that appears!

Had read actually that the camera aint as good as expected... which is a shame... i dont really have any complaints with my k800i's camera... so ya would think the k850i's would be better! Hear the touch screen always goes funny... not loving the sound of that! And slow... not good!

About the random resets... it on the most recent firmware?

My GF has the N95 8GB, i do quite like it for its screen and 8GBness But, i still feel its slow! Opening media... it kinda opens nothing for a second, then it jumps into action and starts readin what its got, its wee things like that that annoy me! Oh and opening the camera and saving pics takes a STUPID amount of time! Start up too... think i can have my k800i on and off 3 times before the N95 has started lol!

Not a Samsung fan... so that aint happening! LG Viewty, never really looked into that one!! I might need to go read all about it now!
