I noticed this as I was moving my rig across to its new case. Is this really orange fluid leaking out of the drive?

Sorry for lousy iphone camera quality, don't have a proper camera on me today.

I think you're referring to the middle part where there's the motor connection. If that's not wet, it's normal, that's the protection to protect the copper wires.

Yeah sorry, it's the motor part of the drive as Necron suggested. Glad to hear it doesn't look suspicious, but my other 2 Seagate drives don't have it, although that could be explained by the fact that they are newer versions.

The drive appears to be working correctly so I guess that I won't worry about it for now.

Yeah, older drives used to have that type of protective 'glue'. Newer drives have another kind of connection which does not require that type of glue.

Glad I helped ;)
