Hi,

Just wondered if someone could help me, basically my orange student contract (120mins, 1000 texts, 25ppm) runs out next month and ive started looking at new contracts.

Im really interested in a nokia N80, and when Dolph pointed out that you could get it on orange for £50 with 650mins and 1100 texts on a 30ppm price plan, 18 month contract, i became very interested.

This basically leaves me 2 options,

1) ring up orange and try to get them to change my current contract onto the above, but i do feel that i wouldnt get the phone for £50 and from what Dolph said in a previous thread that i would be on a 24 month contract.

or

2) Sign up for a totally new contract with the N80 650mins 1100 texts and have 2 contracts running til my old one is up, then cancel the old one leaving me with just the new 1.

Id just wait til the contract ive got now runs out then get a new one but im scared of the offer ending b4 my current contract runs out.

Any suggestions on what would be the best option for me to do?

Cheers..

neither.

Ring up orange and see what they will offer you on your upgrade. Haggle. Mention this deal. Still if no joy. Get PAC. Haggle more. Switch.

I dont think haggling will work tbh i hardly ever go over the 25ppm price plan im on, most my bill has ever been in 1 month was £28, so i doubt im in a position to haggle.

tbh I think you're right there. The talkplan itself is not a problem, but the phone is likely to cost you a fair chunk on upgrade with that spend history.

No harm in calling up and asking, but if you're not that bothered about the number, the new contract might be the better solution.

Dolph i am just looking at signing up for a new contract and i am faced with this option:

Orange account options
Please select an option below. To add a new phone to an existing account you will need your account number and Orange phone to hand.

a)I would like a new phone number under an existing Orange account.

or

b)I would like a new phone number under a new Orange account.

Whats the difference, i know really they are self explanitary but what difference would it make to me personally choosing 1 option rather than the other?

Cheers..

the first option gives you both phones on the same account number, so you get one bill showing both numbers/contracts etc. Doesn't change anything about your existing line or what contracts you are eligible for.

Second option gives you a second account number, so you recieve two seperate bills, two direct debits set up and so on...

I'd choose option 1, it makes the setup much quicker and easier.

Hi Dolph,

I went with a new contract with an N80 and chose to have it included with my existing orange account..

I received an email detailing that my order had been received but as of yet have had no confirmation of it been dispatched and have not been contacted about any problems with my order etc..

I ordered it sunday afternoon and chose to have it delivered tomorrow, can i expect it tomorrow do you think or do you think there is a problem as i havent heard anything from them?

Cheers

EDIT - i rang them and they said order hadnt gone through onto their system and i would have to place the order again....Grrr
