Orange network IPhone !

mine just stays on 1 or 2 bars and i dont get 3g either or if i do i have no signal what so ever.
apparently the signal where i am is fine its the first thing they always check. my boyfriend has a iphone 3g on o2 and it is so much better than mine and mine is the 3gs ! he always has signal and 3g .

just out of interest has your boyfriend had his iphone unlocked by o2, if he has have you tried your sim in his phone ?

might be worth a go as i've seen a few comments whereby the sim tray holder is pretty poor and can cause the signal to be poor because the sim isnt seated properly, not sure how true it is mind.

i have honestly tried everything taking it out putting it back in resetting everything doing the restore to a new phone thing the last 2 things wich i have to do is they are sending me a new sim to try and i have to take it to a apple store, this is the last thing i am trying then they either cancel it or they just wont get paid ! and now the had decided i have called a number 5 times wich i dont even know who this woman is and never spoke toher before in my life and that cost me an extra £11 on top on my bill ! there a joke and there so called excellent customer service well i wont even start on that .

thank you all for your help :)

sorry to hear that, either the iphone hates the orange network or the orange network hates the iphone, either way i'm in the same boat, so i feel your pain :(.

its rubbish isnt it ! you would think they would do somthing about it if so many people are complaining . i have just been on google for the last hour seeing if there is anyway to cancel and there is :) . 1 guy managed to cancel his contract after 11 months and got to keep his phone. he just complained everyday. some people was saying about the " sale of goods act" so going to give that ago aswell :)

yep total rubbish, wouldnt be so bad but my "normal" orange works phone is fine, so far as i'm concerned its an iphone issue as the orange signal is fine on a normal phone.

seen suggestions that taping your sim into your sim holder can help, but it voids the guarentee on the phone, so thats sod all use, and you'd think apple would sort it out, due to their inept design in the first place :(.

good luck on getting out of the contract, hope it goes well :).

well my mum and brother and friend are all on orange and my friend has a iphone 3g and they all work fine its just really confussing and annoying !

thank you ill post on here if i get to cancel it or what happens with it but should be sorted by the end of this week i have a complaint letter ready and waiting if not hehe :p

I don't really understand how you are claiming it's illegal. All they have to do is offer a repair route, which they have.

The bit that's against the sale of goods act is saying that the only way to resolve an issue is to go to the Manufacturer - in this case Apple. It just ain't so - the responsibility for provision is with the retailer. Manufacturer warranties are in addition to your rights against the retailer.

For what it's worth a lot of retailers will try and do this - refer you to the manufacturer for issues. Often it's the better way - hard disk replacements for example - but you have a right to provision from the retailer you bought the goods from.

That is clearly not what they are saying. They are offering a direct repair route, it doesn't matter who the handset goes to as long as it is repaired. I don't see what more you would expect the retailer to do or how they are possibly breaking their contract.

Do you have Orange Care (Their phone insurance) as if so they guarantee to get you a new handset via next day delivery? Best £5pm I ever spent after having 5 faulty Sony Ericssons!

I'd take it into an Apple store rather than the Orange shop. Once Apple realise you have insurance they normally just swap it there and then. Orange wanted to send it away and leave me without a phone for up to 2 weeks.

They are breaking there contract because i am not getting the services i am paying for . Why should i pay 45 a month when i cant use my phone for what its made for its pointless and a waste of my money that i dont care to waste on orange . I also shouldnt have to be sending back a brand new phone after 2 months of having it wasting my time travelling around to fix somthing that actualy isbt my fault. !

They aren't breaking their contract at all. Just because you don't understand how it works doesn't mean they are doing something wrong. They've offered you a solution, which is a repair. If you decide not to take it that's not their fault, it's yours. Apple will probably even collect it from you if you ring them up. Insurance and extra service agreements exist for the exact reasons you are complaining about. If you don't want to pay for the enhanced service then why are you expecting to get it?

no my point is that why should i have to be running around taking a faulty phone here and there when really it shouldnt be happeining after 2 month anyway. if i send it to apple i will be with out a phone for up to 2 weeks why should i do that and then still have to pay the £45 or what ever they deide to charge me this time around for somthing i am not using and actually cant use ! i never had this trouble with vodafone or o2 they delt with it staight away so i am not paying orange when i cant use the service i am supposed to be getting why should i .

Orange Care is next day delivery of a phone, warranty repairs are 2 weeks wait.

i dont have any insurance or anything. it was the guy that i spoke to on sunday that said it can be up to 2 weeks and he was from apple .
