There are two explainations:
1)Well maybe the guy in the shop knows something the entire mobile industry has some how passed by?

2) He/She knows nothing, heard some snippt on something and assumed Orange were being bought out. Orange were bought out a while ago by France Telecom, but thats about it.

Personally, never shop in the store again. If they can't get something this simple right the mind boggles. Hope it wasn't a Link store...

I haven't heard a thing about Orange being taken over.

Maybe the sales rep was getting Orange confused with O2, who are in the middle of being bought out by Telefonica.

AFAIK telefonica have already bought o2,

but to be honest, even if they were to be taken over, I doubt anything serious would happen to your service in the life of your contract (12-18 months)

or

3) They get higher commision from a different network :D

You have hit the nail on the head raptor. Independents get more money for certain networks, IIRC t-mobile are acquisition crazy at the moment and as such have probably hiked their commission and margin payments.

Orange is not about to be taken over. It is owned by france telecom and they arent likely to let it go as Orange is keeping france telecom afloat.

I thought Orange was small fry, based on their share price and T-mobile's latest tariffs built around money instead of minutes seam a little desperate.

Cant really trust share prices, because theres always some shiftyness affecting it, Vodafones share price is only around 150p and I think oranges is about 640p? (am I right?) but Vodafone are the largest network due to turnover.

Get french mobile contract now, a dude @ work has and he gets shead loads of extras and all for 25 euro, more than 02 busines
