Interesting, I thought it was illegal in this country to discriminate on services based upon age, gender or race.

Hence why you don't see any irritating as hell insurance adverts for 'women only' insurers.

Uh, what? Race yes, but gender and age are 2 widely used differentiators. Child ticket prices to pretty much anywhere, admission ages, hair cut prices for men and women, etc.

Car insurance is a fairly unique example.

Hair cut prices are different because women tend to have more hair which requires greater skill to cut in case you haven't noticed?

Children and adult prices are different altogether, children tend to be smaller and thus lighter requiring less fuel in the case of transport or less food in the case of restaurants etc.

I'm pretty sure you can't offer a product to someone based purely upon their age without good reason. I couldn't for example sell a bag and say if you're over 35 it'll cost you x pounds but under 35 it'll cost you y.

My Lumia 800 contract worked out as cheaper than the phone was sim free even before paying for giffgaff, with 200 minutes, unlimited texts, 580mb of data. Add on an extra Gb of data and a lot more minutes and this, for me, is a hell of a lot better than giffgaff.

Giffgaff often works out cheaper than advertised contracts but I've found sounding like you know what you're talking about when it comes to the value of phones etc means you get better offers.

Gonna get this added onto my contract this weekend
