Hi guys, very quick question. Contract up in Jan 14. I can upgrade my phone now.

I get a pretty heavy £22+VAT discount on my bill making it pretty cheap, I pay around £22 a month for 600 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB data, tethering, magic numbers a plenty and phone insurance.

The website is suggesting I can keep my plan as is and they're offering me two out of my three choices, a Samsung Galaxy S4 or an LG G2. The price for either is showing as FREE!

I am obviously happy with such a deal :D But has anyone else experienced a similar situation and gotten away with clicking the button with no discounts being removed from their bill?

What does it say the monthly cost will be? If they are providing premium handsets for free, then you must be taking out a new contract and as such I'd expect it to say somewhere what the monthly cost is. You may be on the same plan but increased cost.

I say this as a former employee, phone up and confirm with staff discounts. I had numerous problems over the years with people I gave my special code to and phoning up will allow you to confirm everything. They will honour online deals if you phone up anyway so phoning up will give you peace of mind and get it ordered that day.

I ended up sorting a new deal. When it came down to it, adding the phone to my basket added LOADS of money... LG G2 was 219 pounds, S4 was 299...

Spent some time dealing with a nice girl who sorted me out. Offered some mediocre deals then we agreed on this one which I think she shot herself in the foot for as it's supposed to be £37.99/month.

£17 of discounts retained and applied, I've got an LG G2 for free and the contract deal is unlimited texts & calls, magic numbers carried over and 5GB of data for £20.99 a month :)

Aye 24 months, I am happy enough with that as I've ran such contracts for 6 years or so by now. I do need to find a cheap phone insurance deal though as this time around Orange wanted £10/month and I think I will be able to do better :)

I lost out as they say my "Orange Care" plan is now defunct plus one of my £5 loyalty discounts has been removed, clearly I'm still not loyal enough after 12+ years! They don't do anything for the £6.99 value the phone insurance had.. but overall the deal seemed like a bargain as soon as she said it so I said yes before she back tracked! Just over 500 quid over the 2 years.

You've effectively got an interest free phone and free use of their network, your bank account/credit card/house insurance might provide free/cheap phone insurance, insure and go were good for my lads phone for a once per year payment of £62 and £20 excess for very good cover including loss.

Pointless update but had my second bill in now on this new deal. They've done something wrong as the last 2 bills have come in at £13.50 and discounts they were gonna remove haven't been removed, meaning this deal (5gb, unlimited texts/calls, LG G2 16GB) is costing me £324. Ideal :D

I should insure it really, still not done so yet.
