Orange - When can I upgrade?

I recently got a text saying I could upgrade, but it looked a bit dodgy to me so I ignored it but it has got me curious.

I think I have 4 months left on my 18 month contract, very happy with it so just looking for a shiny new phone!

Can I ring orange now to do it or wait until nearer the end?
