Hi all,

I am looking to build a AM5 setup with a 5070ti when I can get one later,

Should I be good to order the other parts now or would it be better to wait? I am not sure if AMD are releasing a better version cpu 7600 coming out soon?

I am using my current EVGA 750 PSU and my 2070.

My basket

Thank you.

There's nothing imminent that I'm aware of, apart from the 7400F making it to retail / DIY at some point.

The 9600X is the newer model of the 7600/7600X and this is already available.

Note that OCUK have the 6000 / C30 version of that kit for £180 and £200 is the highest the 7600/7600X have been for quite some time.

Hi.

Nothing wrong upgrading now if your happy with prices for parts , any reason for 64gb of memory ?

The Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX can be had for the same money and comes with 3 m2 slots.

Thank you very much.

I was told running 6000 with 64GB not a good idea before and the reasoning fof slower ram.

a620 mobo's can't enable PBO, which you'll want to do with a 7600. I'd get a b650 board
the core is a fairly basic nvme with a poor tbw endurance of 450TBW with read/write 5000/4400. At £120 I'd either go cheaper such as the WD sn770 for £105(read write 5150/4850 and 1200tbw), or just pay up to £5-£10 more...personally i'd get the renegade
£124.99 Kingstone Fury renegade 2tb read write 7300/7000 with 2000tbw endurance
£127.99 Crucial T500 2tb 7400/7000, 1200tbw
£129.95 Corsair Force MP600 Elite 2tb 7000/6500 1200tbw

Thank you so much I never heard of PBO, it’s been a while since I bought a new cpu/MB :)

So would this one this be good option?

My basket so far.

Thank you.

I'dstear clear of the asus board. vid below has all b650 boards tested with a 7950x on cinebench..yes you not putting one in, but idea is to see how it would cope, esp as the am5 is a platform you can upgrade with a future cpu down the line..anyway, the asus board vrm's hit 112 degrees and the cpu throttled.
For a basic board you could look at the gigabyte eagle ax. theres also the gigabyte gamin x ax. ocuk have it £150(eagle ax)..has been £135 for a lot of it's life, boards seem to be more expensive at the mo. I've been quite fond of the asus tuf b650 plus gaming wifi also, but that's £169 I think...just checked and on offer at £150 at mo away if you search. I'd watch the vid, see which board you like with the connections that are good for you , and then check prices..don't be too loyal to 1 place..prices can vary quite a bit

Also 32GB is plenty.
He plays DCS..that's one game that uses more than 32gb of ram

below from dcs forum...can't remember other game that chews through ram(there is 1 other that escapes me atm), just this one after talking to a guy that plays it. there people that use 128gb for that game . But agree otherwise, all games i play don't come close to my 32gb useage

If you want to play on busy multiplayer servers then alas 64GB is actually the new normal and requirement, especially if running Syria / South Atlantic or im guessing any of the new maps coming out shortly re Normandy 2 and Sinai.

Advising otherwise is pure fantasy and those that do really have zero clue what there on about. To note have tested in VR there is a noticeable difference between 32 and 64 GB of ram on busy servers, and thats with 24GB vram also.

You can set a 32GB pagefile but even on Nvme you will likely get more stutters.

Thank for the warning :D

The asus tuf b650 plus gaming wifi looks good and I think I will go with that then :D

nice. had another look and the tuf gaming b650 plus wifi is £165 with free delivery and returns on offer...(it's £179.99 on ocuk)..last thing, I used to always steer people towards the 7600 vs the 7600x as it was about £30 cheaper, so better price/performance..think the 7600x top of my head is 3/4% faster ...seeing as the 7600x is now only £10 more and you're buying a seperate cooler anyway the price performance difference isn't really there anymore...though the 7600 uses less power so is more efficient
just found a vid below..some games no difference in performance, others can be 10% faster but 3% better fps and 4% better 1% lows av. for your overall cost of everything (your price of £800 lets say a 3%-4% uplift in gaming is worth £24-£32, so for the £10 extra gaining 3-4% performace is worth it...I'd just get the 7600x now if you want to max your framerate )....sorry, keep spending your money though having look the 7600 can be had for £182, and the 7600x £189(very quick search)

anyway, worth looking as the vid to see if any games there are some you play, and see the uplift you may/may not get, and decide from there

ok, just noticed you put arctic silver in there also. Good but old school.....I used to use that too, but it is electrically conductive and any mess can fry stuff...I've switch and have noctua nt-h2 on my am4 system which is 4 years old and arctic mx-5 i think(might be mx-6..came with the actic air cooler i put on the cpu) on my am5 system which is 2 year old now...both going strong with no loss in performance and still cool as anything. both pastes non conductive also...if anythingh i do prefer the noctua stuff, but both excellent for apply and forget. They're long lasting so not a paste that you really need to reapply every year

Thank you so much, I got the 7600x :D Also the thermal paste you suggested.
