Easy to say in hindsight tbh, it's unheard of to have a graphics card go EOL before some have had their preorders fulfilled.
Maybe cancelled orders should have been offered some alternative at the very least or even a place on another queue? That should have been the bare minimum after holding on someones money for 7 months, not just leave them out dry and literally tell them to not contact back, that is just plain wrong
the difference is probably a letter change and £400
They've dropped the POS plastic backplate and gone back to metal.
Still a crappy move by MSI, but money talks.
As above, the only thing they've done is change their "graphene" backplate to a metal one. The original one wasn't even made from graphene like they claimed in their marketing for the card. It was a plastic backplate coated in a graphene/plastic composite material.
All MSI ever seem to do is lie and try to screw consumers over, so it's no surprise that they've told retailers to just cancel all their Gaming X orders, rather than honouring them with the new model.

Tbf I did say this was going to happen a month ago but this is dickish move by MSI to cancel a whole SKU after only 8 months of life.
As per this thread https://www.overclockers.co.uk/foru...gt-series-laptops-with-mxm-graphics.18746748/ I originally kind of defended MSI as sometimes the root of the problem hasn't been due to MSI - but they've had multiple chances over the last 1-2 years or so over multiple products/issues to do the right thing for their customers, sometimes at little or no cost to themselves, and persistently bent their customers over instead. Definitely not a brand I will buy from any more.
MSI, couldn't give a rats **** about their customers! I wouldn't buy any of their products. Anything I have ever purchased from them, was either faulty, or just didn't last. Their customer services is also very poor!
MSI, the scalping company......oh we didn't know anything about a subsidiary company, that we own, having stock of our stock Nvidia 3000 series cards and selling them at 2-3 times our recommended price....honest we didn't know they were doing that!? Really!

Never buying from MSI every again.
But I wish OC gave me the option to pay the £200-£300 for a card they will get. My issue is fine I waited this long but I was going to get a card. But now I won't. Now I have to wait for everyones pre-order to finish, stocks to come back up and then get it.
I wish OC would at least give us the choice to get into the line for another card.
Seeing those others who just got upgraded to Suprim really stung as well. I mean OC didn't need to do that either. Just makes me annoyed.
