I'm going to check out the B&O vs the Audi System, I have a lot of issues with road noise drowning out the stereo in my current a4, but the a3 (at least the e-tron) is significantly quieter inside
Losing faith in my order in a big way, I chased it up today, after 2 weeks of unreturned calls from Preston Audi. Got told that they've been told they should have a build week to give me next week. I'm quite sure they didn't actually submit my order until mid Jan when I paid the deposit right at the beginning of Dec, which is infuriating, as I think the small delay in ordering is going to cause months of delay in delivery, they mentioned May-June on the phone today having originally said I'd have it in March. It's a good thing I can keep my current one for a while longer!
what's the equivalent in the VW family ? the new golf GTE ?
Yeah same car near enough apart from the interior.
Yeah, they said for people coming in to the showroom now it would be October November. Mostly annoyed that part of the delay is them not having ordered it when I paid my deposit. I expected some hold upsIt's happening with a lot of new orders my a3 took 4 months to be built to delivery which I'm thinking about changing around the start of my 2nd year. Looked into a new golf r sales person said there is a 26+ month wait on them and while looking at new range rover evoque they said 6 months lol.

I still remain to be convinced about the whole hybrid/electric vision based on the current tech, current infrastructure and current costs associated with purchase, maintenance and ongoing running costs. Greater adoption will of course support cost reductions and growth in infrastructure to support them, but frankly I see lots of companies jumping on the band wagon but not really fixing any problems that have dogged electric cars since inception. Weight, range and cost still seem wrong to me and simply because modern manufacturers can make them look like normal cars does not make them better than the test models we have seen over the last 20 years.
Making a nice body, nice interior and some nice tech on the dashboard distracts people I feel. Around town I get it, short journeys I get it but it needs to be cheaper to buy, consistent in performance and reliable and I am not sure any of those aspects have been proven yet.
26 months? What?
Build time.

It's about 6 months for a Golf R, not 26.
