was waiting for a while for it insteaD of getting stx;
will let you guys know how it goes, should be receiving it on friday :D

omg, i f'ed up so bad, i just realised that both my pci slots on ud5 are blocked by radeons in x16 slots..

do you think guys it ll be good idea to plug the radeon in x8, and soundcard between them? or just cancel order and get stx?

technically, there are only 2 difference, first is the ST will allow to connect expansion board for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, which im not planning in near future, but was going for ST mainly because of that, in case i will, because both cards cost pretty much same. The 2nd difference im not sure if its just marketing or really true is that the ST has better stereo sound due to new curcuit board with very minimized jitter and snr.

oh and of course, stx is pci-e and st is pci

please what do you think guys, thanks
i've got 3 hours from now to cancel the order before it gets to me

got the stx today, but card came with scratches, few marks and loads of fingerprints on the curcuit board...

lol, sending it back for replacement

lucky me >.<

ST is just STX with PCI instead of PCIe correct?

You'll love it if so :D

Almost. They've made a couple of improvements. There's an onboard clock to reduce jitter. IIRC there might be more analogue speaker connections too.

yea ST is the improved STX with better jitter clock and lower SNR, also better (or maybe different sound). Also allows to connect xonar h6 extension module for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound (like the one that comes with HDAV 1.3).

But why would they use damn PCI slot T_T Now i also regret getting the UD5 mobo instead of P6T deluxe v2. I couldnt choose for ages between those, went with gigabyte. apparently p6t's design would allow me to use PCI slot, while on gigabyte both slots are blocked by my radeons :(

oh well, STX will be great too, just a bit sad because they are both same price (the cards and the motherboards, lol)
