I wouldn't go above 4.2-4.3GHz, to keep the CPU temps in check. In any case, a 2500K is plenty fast at stock.

Still pre-order, with no date for arrival, that Gigabyte is in stock and seems to be the cheapest decent one.

I was advised not to go with MSI at the time of purchase, hence why i switched to the Asus.

In the past i mostly went with MSI products as i found them great.

Do you suggest i wait for the MSI board?

Its amazing sometimes how a game can influence a major spend.

In all fairness i was always a PC person as opposed to consoles, however i do enjoy my Xbox.

forgot to ask Nvidiot, will the stock cooler be ok with this? I dont intend to fiddle with overclocking right now, but maybe in the future i will. At that stage i assume i will need to upgrade the CPU cooler?

Did you not see that Anandtech article

will happily cope with upto 4.4GHZ they said, thats a big increase.

The case also has a hole behind where the motherboard sits so adding a aftermarket heatsink that requires a "bolt through" mounting method can easily be added latter without the removal of the motherboard
