As some of us are married/living together and need to explain to the better half why and how much it is, I thought I would give a small demonstration of me and the wife when I order new parts :D

I will use me, my wife and Titan as an example....

Me researching Titan

And then me seeing the reported specs and performance of Titan

I then progress to tell the wife how much it will cost

So yer, a nice simple way in my house for buying new computer parts.....

haha that made me LOL.

I usually upgrade once a year but that won't be happening much in the future. Thankfully I have some one who is not selfish so she likes to see me happy :)

My last upgrade (new board and second GPU) was bought in part by her (the mobo for my Birthday) so she's really cool about it. There's no way she would let me pull a Greg though so you're a lucky man !

I was offered £110 inc for my CPU (Xeon) and have been offered a 2500k for £110. I declined though simply on the grounds of being happy with how it is and not wanting to pull it apart again.

Best way is to hide what you buy. If my wife found out what I spend the money on she would skin me.

I always have some excuse like the power supply just blew up and I NEED another one.

Don't work all the time though :(
 
Can't believe you go to the trouble greg, you should know better being older than me n all that.:p

This has worked for years mate:

Wait until she's in bed sleeping, get it out your wrapper, quietly slip it in without making a noise, but don't balls it up, she's never the wiser, works a charm every single time!:D

Reminds me of when I was a kid and came home late. Mum would stand in the door way and put her arm on the door frame. You knew you were getting a clump so I would try and duck under her arm and run in haha she would smack me on top of the head as I tried to make my escape :D
