So, let me get this straight. You most likely had a key logger, so some kid had access to all your passwords, including your email address password. And its EA's fault that he was able to keep getting into your account?
While their support could have dealt with the situation better, that's probably not been the weak link in the chain of issues here.
Well, my email address hadn't been compromised. That was why i was confused as to how he was able to alter the details so quickly. He was only able to log my information when i was either talking to support, or manually resetting the password myself. All he needed was my date of birth, which he could have gotten access to through the facebook connection on the account, and he would have already have access to the serial number as origin will show it once logged in.
It's most def my fault for using a weak password, and for somehow not realising i had no software based firewall protection, but i couldn't help the fact this machine gets used by 3 other people, all of whom download all sorts of stuff.
As soon as i used my Macbook to reset the details he hasnt been able to get back in, so it was def the machine that was the breach. I'm fully aware that all of those factors led to me being an easy target for hacking, but it of course still made me fuming to think this guy had the cheek for consistently trying his luck. Despite my lack of knowledge of how the situation developed, i still paid for all of the titles in the account fair and square, and it just made me mad at EA because their support kept letting him reset it with almost no fuss.
Im not blaming EA because it was out of their hands until i managed to find out how this person was able to get it within minutes of the account being put back in my name. EA support was very good in all respects, and im grateful they have given me a premium code.
As i said, lesson learnt.
