Origin idle CPU usage

Has anyone had any problems with Origin and its CPU usage? ive had a few probs lately with games FPS and stuttering and i think i now know why.

Origin when minimized has been using between 40-50% CPU usage, thats a silly amount of power just to have a app loaded and minimized in the taskbar.

Can't help with your problem but no that is not right at all. Something weird is happening, mine has never done that.

Mine does this as well, left long enough it can cripple my i5 3570K

This is why I leave it off when not in use.

I didn't check tbh mate, i just looked in task manager and seen under processes that origin was using a silly amount of CPU power even when Origin was idle.

Ive shut down origin and my FPS problems seem to be gone, other ppl seem to have had this issue as well.

Also recognised this issue this week when i wondered why my cpu fan seemed to noiser then i would expect for an idle PC, saw that origin was generating about 10% cpu load without any noticable HDD activity...really odd.

Origin starts using silly amounts of cpu usage if you go offline but keep it running. Its annoying as hell. If you go online it should be ok.

Else you can try disabling origin in game.
