Guys,

I need to be able to change the installation directory for origin as my windows is on a small ssd and theres no room for any games.

This is straightforward in steam.

Am I missing any options as this is a disaster for me?

Well the option to do so is there but it gives an error saying im unable to do so,.

Running as admin on w7 x64

why must every "help me solve a problem" thread be a game of 20 questions with the op as they dole out information piece by piece.

So what's the error message?

If you go in to regedit, you can change the default install folder for programs to whatever you want. It will be set as c:\program files

Maybe it just doesn't like to be installed into the root of a hard drive? Try putting it into a folder on the E:\ instead? So E:\Origin\Origin?

Yeah tried that didn't work .

Surely this is daft right? to have to use regedit for this.

Install the program to your SSD, it's tiny.

Then change the location of where you would like to install your games in the settings.

You can also change where the installers are saved (if you want to keep them)

Origin is still just a beta.

Why don't you just install Origin to the C drive (as it's only 100mb or so), and then change the directory where games are installed. Unlike Steam you can change this from within the program, just go to 'customise and control Origin' and then click Settings.
