**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

If I recall correctly, which I often don't lol, that was the same in SC1. My guess is they kept it like that to please the purists.

Maybe there will be an option to increase it in certain MP matches.

I suppose it means you have to try and tech up fast to get better units and also upgrade things quickly. That or rush with loads of weaker units.

I just had my best game on kulas ravine, i was protoss against zerg and terran. chinese x5 AI. I managed to expand but then got my initial base wiped out my a zerg army, i rebuilt and expanded again, this time using blocks of ion cannon things to defend. I built 15 or so upgraded void rays and in came a battlecruiser wave with some grouond units. Ion cannons were pretty effective against them with the void rays but still nailed me. - How do you upgrade the Ion Cannons? It seems like the only Protoss ground defence really

A mass of hydralisk then came in to finish me off. This is by far the best game out at the moment, so many different stragegies

Apparently yes, shame the extra invite a friend keys didn't just go to opt-in people as well (from my bitter perspective who hasn't got a key yet)

Blizzard guy on forums said:
Kapeselus: But on a serious note - yes, we will keep inviting people, who opted-in, don't worry smile

log into my battlenet account every day to check but still no invite.... swear i have the worst luck in the world when it comes to beta invites - never got in on one yet ! ever!

(ok I've put the violin away now... give me a key someone! :D )

I don't struggle with them, and there are many soft counters (builds that can deal with them but aren't targeted at preventing them).

As I said, I'm only really trying to find out if there is a hard counter to the crackling build/tech tree.

Again, counters are build orders designed to counter another strategy/build, not a particular unit.

Perhaps this kind of question is better suited to TL.net.

Im aware of the different types of counter. Too my knowledge there isnt (as ive already stated)..theres also no reason for Zerg to aim a BO at cracklings in 1's, they should just come gradually.

I Also never suggested you struggle with them :)

confused on what the point of your post is here, but yes, Perhaps TL would be best in this situation. You will get a more accurate answer there i do believe.

quick question though, are you VaMp[MB] from SC:BW?

on a side note, i finally played another race.. Terran, quite fun and loving the voices of Thor.
dont know any build orders yet though, will have to check out some replays :)

I got a key thanks to friend :D

The Photon Cannon is the only protoss defence building same as zerg with their spine crawler for ground and spore cannon for AA. The game isn't about building ****loads of defence buildings as the tier 3 units all have longer range than they do; invest more in your army and winning the game within 15 minutes

I got a key this evening.

OH. MY. GOD.

It so utterly friggin rocks. After the debacles of recent (C&C4 for one) I actually wept a little when I realised Blizzard had taken a great game, kept the formula, and made it better.

My faith in game developers is restored.
