**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Fine for me, but the quality is quite low (but that's to be expected really).

Are you watching the official GOMtv stream?

Yea seems to be fine now, think the constant chat spam wasn't helping.

No, you have to pay for the GOMtv stream right? Oh and TvT zzz :(

The standard quality is free. You just have to register. It's worth it as it shows the people organising it if they need to expand their bandwidth or not (they've said this on air). :)

Ah I see, but you have to use that GOM player right? The 'world's best multimedia player' which I have never heard of and doesn't run on Linux :D

I'm new to starcraft 2, never played sc1 but Im rather interested in playing it now.

Is it still worth playing, or is there no point me getting it as its just a uglier sc2?

Battle net is not registering matches I think, had to games, my games count is still as it was before I played them. Obviously got no points for it

its a excellent game which you will enjoy and As being said a very good community

The difficulty really ramps up suddenly I found.
Which missions are you stuck on?
Artifact missions, and the Odin ones, such as the one with Maar. I just cannot build/get resources quickly enough. I'm about halway through the campaign, and getting to the hard stage (I did it originally on 'Hard' mode), and I just can't see me doing any more. Cannot for the life of me see me completing 'All In' or 'In Utter Darkness'.

I've beaten other RTS games on the most difficult level, because its a case of adapting strategy, but with SC2 it doesn't seem that any adaptions I do will work; I can't produce resources quickly enough, I can't build quickly enough, and I can't counter the fact that the computer throws more units at me that out damage mine. Zerg units utterly rape Protoss Cannons for example, so building base defence is virtually impossible, or I stick 6 marines in a bunker (or 4/Firebat usually), and it gets destroyed by a couple of units.
