**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Me and a group of friends have been playing team games for months (a few games a week). Individually, we're silver to platinum league, yet our team league has remained in bronze/silver. What's that about? :p

Kar now your back too we should get back on the 2v2 bandwagon :p

Thanks for the Welcomes Back Nursey/Alex :)

poke me when im online for some games!

might be knocking around a bit this week :)

think im going to have to leave any sort of hardcore 1v1ing for a few weeks though.. i actually can't remember hotkeys and struggling to counter the 4 gate! whats going on! :o

Just completed the campaign :) Slow, I know

Also still 10 wins out of 20 games, but now trying to complete all the challenges. This game will keep me bust for a looong time yet

thanks to all involved for the great games last night. was a lot of fun. and devil, you were entirely right about our game! so apologies about that. just one of those games where you get the wrong impression of who is in front etc. alex has an idea what i'm talking about i think. ;)

I installed the Nvidea 3D Vision on my PC last night and tried a few different games, including Starcraft 2. The 3D effect is quite good, but very distracting ingame. I found myself focusing on all the 3D effects rather than the combat going on. Ended up having to switch it off again.

Anyone else tried it in 3D?

I got bored of it pretty quickly. SP was a great experience. MP got repetitive quickly.

Have you tried custom games? There is sc2 version of dota and many other games.

I remember when I owned warcraft 3 I played more custom games then the game itself, I would have paid just for custom games made by the community rather than for the rts part of the game if I had to.

As for actually league games, I guess I can see your point about it being repetitive but seen as its 3 races and endless tactics I find it humanly impossible for it to get repetitive, just my view on it.

Havent tried it myself, but i figured that's what it would be like :(. Need to be pretty focused visually, 3D effects arent going to help that.

Might be worth just it to see huge colossus armies walking across the map though

Yea, would have to agree with Nerusy, customs are where it's at. Ladder's a lot of fun, but it certainly gets repetitive.

There's plenty of maps with 'near'-starcraft 2 gameplay with interesting modifications or conditions. Also plenty of maps with completely different gameplay, the possibilities are huge :D

I really need to get back into this and seriously try to earn some of the good tactics. It's fun just messing around but when i met a good player i always got totally slaughtered.

Shame the custom map list UI is so basic though, that could really do with some improvements to make it easier to browse custom map types.

This is my problem too. How do I find out what custom games are about? Whenever I look there are all sorts of weird things in there, with no explanation of what they're about?

The custom game UI is basically the worst bit about the game. Considering how powerful the map editor is, the idea of having such a terrible interface for this is bizarre...

Maybe broken is a little extreme, but it most definitely favours Protoss. Stuff like 4gate is so much easier to execute than it is to defend, and late game Protoss is so incredibly difficult to stop. It's so easy to make a small mistake against Protss and lose the match.

Just watch any of the Master League/Pros streaming and see how much harder they have to work than the Toss to win.
