**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I redid my placement matches last week on thursday i think and managed to get into bronze (was in copper before) Its much more exciting now in a league higher. Matches are quite close and ive won a some and lost a few. I have moved up to about 25th in copper though. I jave been playing as Zerg and am getting quite a bit better at managing resources, scouting and generally learning from mistakes.

Had a couple of great games yesterday where both players teamed up on me and seemed to be ignoring my protoss teammate sitting happily massing void rays, stalkers and carriers. I held them off and managed to keep an expansion alive and save all my overlords. I had to restart my base but by this time my teammate now had a load of level 3 carriers and took out one of the players. He shared resources with me and I got about 100 upgraded zerglings to take out all the missile launchers. Then finished him with carriers, ultras and void rays :)

Was a close game though

Alright guys, just been demoted fomr silver to bronze league

Anyone recommend a good site for tech trees/strategies etc

And in a related note I really like the music, reminds me of Serenity (the movie)/Firefly series.

Youtube. Just type in something like starcraft 2 platinum or gold and watch some replays. Terran music is fantastic, pitty i'm rubbish with terran

I might see you in Bronze, im around 20-25 at the moment. Whats your username and i'll add it to the ocuk list?

edit - Is it possile to cloak the maothership somehow?
Is it possible to cloak warp prisms with the mothership then warp loads of units to the location?

I still dont really have a clue what the different abilities are that the infestor has. I got something like parasite for infestor but didnt know what it did. Still not too clued up on any of the 'special' units or abilities they have. I generally go for attack units but I feel that using special abilities of each race will be crucial if I plan on getting any higher than bronze league. Changling is very useful as a spy.

I imagine that using certain unit abilities together will be devistating if done correctly, for example the mothership vortex on a bunch of units then a nuke from another terran player just as they come out the vortex

The infestor can do 3 things. Neural parasite literally takes over an enemy unit, giving it to you. Sounds overpowered right, but the infestor dies so easily that control is given back normally right away. Though if you're not careful while doing a thor drop, a good Zerg can easily take control of the thor and use it against you for the rest of the match. They also have spawn infested terran which produces a marine looking guy who walks extremely slowly and has very little HP and only lasts 20 or so seconds, but does more damage than a marine. Infested terran is never used...ever. The third ability is fungal growth which is an AoE attack which does 36 damage over 8 seconds to all units in the area of the attack and stops them from moving.

Oh and before you ask, yes you can take over an enemy SCV and build your own Terran army if you wanted. :D

I was watching HDstarcraft playing on his stream, and he took over an SCV and started building his own Terran buildings. The guy was being an ass and wouldn't leave even though HD had won, so HD built a Ghost Academy and nuked him. :D

Yeah I get the same thing, when starting the game pretty much 9/10 times I have to read and accept both T&Cs and then most of the time it doesn't exit right.

i dont get the T&C and mine only hangs at exit when i click the menu and go directly to exit game.

If i first log out and then exit game it seems to work fine.

Its already a known bug if you check the website :)

In regards to Infestors, i think their possibly the most useful unit Zerg has. Infested Terran i tend to use quite often for harassing, cliff tops and mineral lines :) Neural Parasite is extreamly useful vs those large units like Collosi or Thors.
Fungal Growth is the most useful though, especially vs Terran MMM ball, absolutely destroys with a hydra/roach/ling mix
It makes the medivacs go crazy healing a mass of targets while your army finishes everything off ^^

On the other hand, does anybody find that Zerg seem much weaker since patch 11? having real trouble with them against Protoss recently which is a bit strange...

Interesting, what range do the infestors have to be in to control units like collosi? With the lance upgrades they can kill things about 1/2 way across the screen!

Same with the infested terran, how far do they shoot them? and what range for fungal growth?

Personally I think Zerg is stronger, but thats only because i'm slowly getting better. The corruptors are so much stronger and harder than mutas and with 3 or 4 make short work of 5 or 6 void rays

I think im just in a learning curve at the moment and getting frustrated by it ^^ just ignore my rants on Zerg not being strong, im just having starcraft pmt!

The range on the Infestors Nural Parasite isnt all that great to be honest, but tis quite balanced. the trick is to use your army with them. what i do is set it off to take over the unit, collosus for example, then push your army forward infornt of the infestor so it creates a sort of wall of Zerg! That way your hydras/roaches cause a block, making it difficult for your infestor to get picked off by stalkers. Also, if the stalkers want to pick off the Infestor, they have to come closer, which just gets them shot at more ^^

I've got some replays of decentish Infestor play if you want to see them.

Range of the Fungal Growth is about the same as a Hydra. and the Infested Terran has a spawning ring :)

Im finding myself learning more and more uses for Infestors. Actually ignoring muta builds now and going straight into a hydra/roach/infestor build. Especially against Protoss as it seems Pheonix can destroy all. Although not tested out Corrupters new ability properly yet. Want to perfect Infesors first :)
