i was thinking the same but this is one of the most eagerly awaited pc games
that will sell loads

wont be coming down in price for years imo
 
ive preordered the collectors edition as i rarely buy them, but as its blizzard and im a wow player i thought i might aswell.
 
Not preordered, But will probably pick up the normal version, I must also be one of the few people in the universe who wont be playing it online :P

I'm another one :P

Playing the beta taught me a lot about how much time I usually waste in a match by playing in a relatively relaxed manner rather than jumping all over the map, training units continually (my usual failing) such that you never get a second to watch much of what is happening..and yet you know everything. The thought of going up against others who will punish me for the split second I calm down and attempt to sit back in my chair makes me just want to stick to offline.
 
Jeez i just watched them games and a few more... its so far beyond my ability lol I think i actually enjoy watching them more than playing multi player.

If i don't do it that way i'll never play the SP
 
Just my inept opinion, but seems like they're kinda cutting it close, eh? Or maybe it's just Blizzard's relative silence and my itchin' for Phase 2 and finally getting my paws on the CE. :D

Wonder how much time there needs to be, for manufacture/shipping, between the game 'going gold' and the worldwide release date. :o

Two Weeks has been the figure quoted in the past for previous Blizzard releases, and IIRC Korea is only getting a digital download version.

The pro's seem to be pretty happy with the multiplayer game balance, it seems pretty likely that the single-player game is done bar the shouting and so the next few weeks are down to ironing out all the Battle.net 2.0 issues (of which there are many). And then there's the almighty crunch they need to prepare for as thousands of new players try to log into the Battle.net Auth Servers, which IIRC are the same as WoW's.

I think it is safe to say that manufacturing has started months ago and there are a large stockpile of games ready for shipping.

Any changes made would be going into patches.
 
Good thinking, didn't realise. I'm sure they're on top of things :)

Here's hoping they listen and add back in the Bnet features they gutted..

Not sure, patch file is 488mb in size, no patch notes, downloading quite slowly at about ~400 KB/s :(

Seems like the patch is only available for EU at the moment though :)

Maybe Blizz needed something to distract people from the current hullabaloo over the realID forum issue.
 
urgh downlaoded the patch and after 4% it fails with

Blizzard updater was unable to read the file "Version\Base14593\SC2.exe"
This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at <unknown>-- For example a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, Hard Drive corruption or a networking problem while downloading the update (the error code was 0.) : DecompressJob::execute()


any ideas on what the fudge i should be doing?

Have you got P2P disabled? Doing so speeds things up no end.
