**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I know this is cutting it a little late but I thought blizzard would have given me a key by now and they havn't. So does anyone have a spare friend key that I could please use? I expected there to be an open beta at least where I can test if my aging pentium dual core is up to the job of playing SC2, but it has stayed closed beta and I would rather see how this runs before my preorder arrives (so I have time to cancel if needed).

I'm playing on a CD2@1800MHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7900 (was using a 7600 at beginning of the Beta)
Runs fine in Low graphics mode, which still IMO looks good. (certainly when compared to BW)

I have a 5770 & [email protected]. I run in high settings and it works a lot better than ultra. In 3 vs 3 it starts to slow down though. I dont think 3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4 will be playable on a dual core unless clocked to 4ghz or something. Single core will be a no hoper
 
as far as i know from what i have read is that they do not plan to put support for 4 cored cpu's or above as more people still are running dual cored cpu's (or something along them lines lol)

Just watched the replays scott, You didnt block your choke on lost temple, units could get in/out at the side of your gateway. It was good on blistering sands though

I should have countered when you attacked on lost temple, i had a 2 or 3 more stalkers and might have won or at least taken out your expo or probes. I didnt build enough units and focussed on upgrades and more gateways. I had the same amount of units when you attacked early on as I did when the upgraded colossus and more stalkers attacked. I just needed to keep pumping out units and I would have been ok. I also didnt use my probe very well as it was over your army and I didnt even notice!

Aye you're not supposed to completely wall off on Lost Temple. Unlike Blistering Sands you don't have rocks you can break to make an entrance later on. It's just a build to use against Zerg really, leaving 1 space that a Zealot can block against early Zerglings, and still allowing you to take your expansion really early. Works really well with Colossus builds since you can support 2 Robo's off 2 bases. But I wanted to try it against you since I've never done it before and need to practise it a lot.
 
battle net went down for me midgame .. kinda sucked but its been back up for like 2 hours now.. trying out all these new strats for all you protoss players out there check out the 4 gate strategy on my site
 
Been friends with him for a few years, we used to play lineage 2 together. Dont let that game fool you though, he owns me 95% of the time with very little effort hehe.

Sorry dude, last night was just a pain in the backside for me, missus wanted attention and then i got hooked watching chavs getting beaten up by police in Road Wars.. ha!

Bug Fixes


Many of the following bug fixes were intended for internal testing only, and are now being reverted.
250mm Strike Cannons can no longer deal damage to hidden targets.
Barracks build time decreased from 65 to 60 seconds.
Bunker build time decreased from 40 to 30 seconds.
Canceling morphing Banelings now returns 75% of the cost like other morphing Zerg units.
Hellion range reverted from 6 to 5.
Reaper build time decreased from 45 to 40 seconds.
Zealot build time decreased from 38 to 33 seconds.
