**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I've not played this for months (still been keeping up with MLG and the GSLs though :D), but I'm trying to get back in to it now.

Even though I was progressing as Protoss, I've decided to swap over to Terran. It's nothing to do with balance or any of that rubbish before anyone pipes up (!), but I just feel Terran is more versatile which I like.

I'm a high silver at the moment (but I keep getting matched up against high golds), so I'm going to be on a bit of a loosing streak while I catch up, but I guess that's part and parcel of switching race.

Are these all of the 1v1 ladder maps available right now?

This isn't about me wishing there were more maps (tho I do), I'm just wondering why I've never played on maps such as Agria Valley, Burial Grounds, Crossfire, Junk Yard or Worldship...? Or should those maps not be playable for some reason I'd know if I just paid a bit of attention? :o

Becuase the only balanced map out of those is crossfire. :p

The rest are really bad maps Blizzard threw in there for custom games. Blizzard are really really bad at making maps lol.
 
apparently shakuras has been removed from the map pool?

if this is true it'd be a shame since I quite liked that map.

On a seperate note, jumped back onto BW yesterday and had a blast. I went 3-7 but still, there's nowt quite like it until (hopefully) sc2 gets fully balanced with lots more maps and a few expansions.
 
Im going to get this in the not too distant future.

Seen it round a friends house and was impressed. Wonderful graphics of the maps and the combat is as close to Red Alert 2 as any rts game has come since!

Scaried of getting mowed to peices by the online community tho!

Also are there any plans for 'free' map packs or any patches on the horizon?

I know already there is another SC due in 2012.

Patches and maps will always be free. The only paid content will be in the expansion probably.

There's a big patch coming in the first week of january.
