**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Anyone been watching GSL Code S today? Leenock vs ForGG were some pretty sick games.

Bought the bloody gsl year ticket and keep checking results before just going and watching vods but think I'll watch those matches regardless, heard g1 was particularly good.

I'm off tomorrow though and Idra is on :D

I'm a huge fan of SC2 and watch so much content but barely ever play. So decided to force my self to ladder this season and really get into played. Got 203 games under my belt since the game came out, decided to play some 4 vs 4 the last few days to get into it and then play some 1 vs 1 ladder.

Did my 3 placement matches and won them, got put in Platinum :S. Now I've got ladder anxiety again, no way I should be in Plat, likely now to get ROFLSTOMP steam rolled now into Bronze = /

You're not the only one this happens to. Plenty get placed in higher leagues than they really should be, but the match maker should eventually put you where you belong regardless. Or hey maybe you're better than you think! ;)

Ladder anxiety can be a bitch but just look at it like this. It's just a game at this point, you're not competing for money in front of thousands and no one cares if you're bad. If you don't play you're never going to improve, no matter how much starcraft you watch. It's kind of like football in this respect.

Once you get over caring about winning and losing you will have a lot more fun and learn a lot more. You can test certain builds even though you know you will lose because you haven't tested it before. But once you've got the hang of it you can start stomping people.

If you really think you're not cut out for platinum, just throw a bunch of games until you get demoted.

Also downloading replay packs from pro's really helps. But sadly not many do this. I know Sheth and Zenio do.

I can play games such as Quake live duels and other 1 vs 1 games just fine, not sure why but when I play SC2 1vs1 I feel stressed? lol.

I really do enjoy playing it, might force myself to play 1 or 2 games later and see how it goes. Just made sure I was on top of my macro during fights, as always read that from Bronze - > Plat people barely macro behind army fights.

Starcraft i end up stressed at myself, other games I can pretty much say the other guy is just better or I'm not really trying, starcraft pretty much always give 100% even if its a weird build i'm doing i know that i could play much better every game and only myself to blame.

Personally I believe thats why people get stressed, due to knowing how much better you can be and should have won it, compare to FPS games usually the other guy is better or you get another shot at it atleast.

I can't beat insane Ai (all races) with Zerg, what am I missing?

Don't really want to make anyone watch my replays, but always I am few and the Ai is many. :p

I've tried distracting the workers, but only manage to pull away one worker so it didn't make a dent in their economy. 6 minutes in their army is almost twice my lings and knocking on my door, tried early harass but computer micro means that my lings die almost immediately as they get there in groups of 4.

I can beat Hard Ai without resorting to cheap tricks, but can't see a way currently.

I'd prefer to do it with Zerg. xD

ps don't mean to sound like I'm moaning, and greatful for any pointers or tips preferably some that can be used in pvp.

Insane AI cheats, pretty damn hard to beat it in a straight up game, I wouldn't even bother.

That wasn't helpful but oh well :p

Just lost 5 matches in a row, i cannot express my rage in words, i need something to hit.

I know how you feel. Lately i've just tried to shrug off defeats and forget about it, it does seem to work.
