I have a little 14" TV, with a Scart Mode and RGB mode, both of which take input from the one scart socket on the back.
I got the official Advanced Scart Cable as I heard it offered better video quality. It arrived today, and when flicking between Scart mode and RGB mode, that the RGB mode on the TV was darker than the standard Scart mode, which for instance in the dark levels near the end of Halo2 made it quite hard to play. (note that the advanced cable was used at all times, as I was just flicking between AV modes on the TV).
Is this meant to happen or usual, or do I have a TV with a bad RGB playback mode? Would I still get an improvement on sound and video (the reason I bought the cable, as I heard it was far better than the composite standard lead) in standard scart mode, or do I need to use RGB mode for any sort of improvement, which might be a little unplayable due to light issues in dark games?
Sorry for all the questions, but I just hate to use materials not to thier potential. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I only use the TV for games on my SNES, Xbox and watching DVDs, so I dont mind tweaking the colour settings a bit.
