OS/400

I've just aquired a IBM AS/400. I'm trying to learn how to administer one properly. Does anyone have decent links for documentation for OS/400 or could suggest good books on how to use it. It'll need the basics as I'm a newbie with Unix.

And out of curiosity, who has ever used a AS/400?

Your best off asking in the *nix forum. I have used one a long time ago but it was running debian not unix, though I have used unix a lot. Im not sure there will be any specific books out there for them, but there are plenty on *nix.

Yep, 'Tis running OS/400 now called iSeries i5/OS

Maybe a Don should move this into the linux and open source forum?

I used it for a couple of years, though only certain retail based applications for stock management and till transactions.
Good luck with learning it though, from what I remember there is plenty to it.

Thanks, thats the sort of link I'm after, comprehensive, yet not too heavy.

Edit: has anyone used IBM's AS400 Client Access Express? I'm having truoble installing updates...grrr...
