Could anyone tell me if a single raptor is better than 2 f1 in raid 0. Would it be better to get 2 raptors in raid 0 rather than the f1's.

I would think that the Transfer speeds of the F1's would be a lot higher, but the access time of the raptor would still be faster - Im not sure on the older raptor mind but the velociraptor is ~ 7ms

Raid 0 for your data (IMO) is a bad idea. Doubles your chance of loosing the lot.
Whats you backup strategy for the data?

if your thinking of paying for 2 raptors buy one SSD (Crucial M225 128GB or bigger do not raid not needed) far better system respond times, get an second HDD for big files that you do not access often

Then you have read from people that dont have any common sense OR have a reliable backup solution. RAID 0 for Data is pointless unless it is accessed a lot. Go for a single drive or a Mirorred/RAID 1 setup for data.

thank you.

I would rather have 1 Crucial drive then the raptors in RAID, there better then the raptors in every way but price.

If you have an external backup, then get 1x Crucial SSD for the OS, and 1x F1 for the data... Will be very fast! (and an exact match for the setup I will be running on tuesday) :D
