OS Reinstall Problems!

Hey all, i've got quite an annoying and worrying problem on my hands here, basically i had windows 7 installed, but got a virus, so reinstalled it, this was installed on my HDD, and also a spare copy on my SSD which i know you should disable defragmentation for, but i forgot to.

Once it was installed on the SSD, i deleted it from the HDD, so that copy became unusable, but i forgot about the defrag prevention.
Anyway, i flashed the bios to the latest version ( using the executable Liveupdate platform from MSI thinking its safe ) and it restarted the pc, then when i tried to load the OS, bluescreen, tried again, bluescreen, at the same point of windows startup, i don't know what i did but the next part is what really confuses me

When i attempt to install vista now (yes vista, as i've lost the windows 7 disk! :( ), using the disk, it decides that it dislikes the hard drives ive got in the computer, i don't know why but it asks for Drivers?!

so does anyone know whats up here, is it because ive flashed the bios, if that fails does it cause harm to a system ( it says its the version i flashed to when i check it in the Bios) and if not, how would i install vista again, id like to get the pc back working again soon, ive just completed mw3 on veteran and wanted to upload it all to youtube!

i will get a new copy of windows 7 soon as it is superior to vista, but as long as the pc gets back up ill be happy!

If it helps my hard drives are 2 Samsung Spinpoint F4's and an OCZ Vertex II

Cheers for any help in advance!

Have you done a Bios reset following the update?

If you are using AHCI, defragmentation should be automatically disabled with an SSD.

When you flashed the BIOS, it's likely that your hard drive mode changed. If it was previously AHCI, it might have changed to IDE, or vice-versa.

This would have caused the BSOD upon startup of Windows, and could have been resolved without needing to touch your Windows installation.

Bios reset, how do i do that?! yes the Hard drives changed to IDE mode from AHCI, its just a shame ive now lost Windows 7 from that hard drive when i tried to install vista, okay so if i reinstall windows 7 it should work ?!

There will either be a jumper on the motherboard or a switch called cmos reset. For the jumper method you just move the plastic cap from pins 1-2 to 2-3 for a few seconds and then move back. If it is just two pins, short across them with a screw driver tip.

You could also remove the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes.

Then restart, go into the bios and set it up again.

Updated

Hi Guys, Have found the "CMOS Clear" button, assume that was the button i was asked to press, its reset the bios, but im still having problems, Have tried Windows 7 Disk, didn't register with the computer and also tried booting from a hard drive with Windows 7 already on it.

The message that comes up each time is

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.

Basically it wouldn't work with any disks or hard drives, except the Windows vista 32 bit i have, which won't allow me to install.

What do i do now guys?!

P.S. the motherboard has 4 blue lights coming on im not sure if thats a sign of something bad, but when i had all the ram installed at one point, the pc kept restarting itself randomly, its not doing that anymore and i can boot to bios etc.

Whats my next move?!

This is an image of the problem, the DVD of windows 7 and the hard drive with it installed on both showed this message, but the vista disk did not.
