OS With new Mobo

Just brought a new motherboard Gigabyte H77M-D3H but I don't have a windows 8 disk anymore, Is it really necessary to install the OS again when installing a new mobo?

Its usually best to do so but not a must , uninstall or you old motherboard drivers before your fit your new one.

If changing chipsets I would advise it. I went through absolute bsod hell going from z87>z97 without a clean os install

clean if you can, but you cant so give it a go.

you may have to spend some time in safe mode removing devices from device manager. and if you have any devices that have a full software install that wont be there afterwards like wifi software or onboard sound uninstall them first
