OS X Print screen ??? Help

How do I get a print screen or screen dump in OS X and where do I paste it too, seen that CMD + Shift + 2 copys it but to where ????

Need it for a movie snap shot.

Nothing happening just getting OS X thud sound

ctrl + cmd + shift + 3 (full screen) for it to be copied to the clipboard. Open Preview, File -> New from Clipboard (don't use ctrl if you want the file to be created on the desktop.)

ctrl + cmd + shift + 4, then space bar (equivalent of alt + prnt screen current window only.) Again, Open Preview, File -> New from Clipboard (don't use ctrl if you want the file to be created on the desktop.)

Take snapshot of the whole screen

Cmd-Shift-4
Take snapshot of the selected area

Cmd-Shift-4-Spacebar
Take picture of a window

Escape
Cancel

Hold Spacebar after Drawing the region
Move the selected area

Hold Option
Resize selected area

Hold Shift
Resize selected area horizontally or vertically

Says I cant use screen grab wile i'm playing a DVD movie, now that's rubbish.

Does it not have a snipe tool like in Vista

Any other idea's

It's a copyright thing with DVD Player. Use VLC, it'll allow you to take screen grabs with it.

If you click on the desktop / background so the DVD player is not the active window I (believe) you can screenshot the desktop, or at the very least do a selectable window.
