OSD needed for linux

Hi
I just installed mint on to my netbook and all is well; I do need an on screen display program to tell me when my caps lock is on or off thou... can anyone suggest me one.

There was a good one for KDE, was a taskbar applet.

Not sure if there's a similar thing for gnome tho.

The one in EEE-Xandros is good, but that again is KDE.
