Hey folks, does anyone know what the deal is with purchasing OSX on student license from Apple, I had a brief look around the apple site and it just says to call a number.

Can it be done by visiting a store? What sort of price will a single license be?

Thaaaanks :D

It's not technically a students license with any of their software.

It's full versions, as you would buy if you weren't a student just discounted.

How so? I'm on the online store and even though I can't access the HE Store I still get money off on the normal education store

I went to the Apple store in Milk an' Beans to make some enquiries about upgrading my powerbook from 10.3 to 10.5 and apparently they don't offer the operating systems on with student discount any more.

Chances are it'll make my power book just a 'book' after the upgrade because according to the website I have minimum spec. I'd be willing to do it for a reduced rate, but loath to do so for £85.

Don't know who told you that, but they do still have education discounts.

The person you were talking to was chatting rubbish.

A lot of the time they don't offer it in store. Really depends what one you go to.

I'd stick with ordering over the phone or on the net with education purchases.

It doesn't depend on who you're talking to. They DO do it instore, I believe the discount is 10%. It's a SET discount for each tier of education, in the form of a percentage, and it's common to ALL apple stores. The online stores can be cheaper though I believe.
