ouch, EA is going down it seems!

Must be due to the TORtanic.

You mean that amazingly well selling received game that is well polished albeit very generic - but no one moans at WOW for being one of the biggest rip-offs ever. EA will do just fine. BF3 sold very very well, SWTOR has been selling well - BW are sticking new content already ...

was just on a deal site posting deals and someone posted a yahoo finance link to the reason the product was so cheap - hmv - seems theyre losing a lotof stocks so i type ea into this yahoo finance and ouch

http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q?s=EA&ql=0

can anyone tellme what this means all i see is all red and negative haha

on theplus side, the company i work for - next, is all green :)

i putthis blunder on ea down the the games theyve ruined

I blame the monstrosity that is BF3.

Joking :p

It would be funny if it weren't so sad that this is literally how people think and act on the global stock exchange. Good job OP.

Which in itself influences market perception on stocks and can adversely affect the Companies reputation and then by association their profitiability and liquidity.

If it wasn't bad enough that speculators are trying to influence stock values to make a quick profit, when people are trading stocks under the misconception that minor shifts in stock values indicate actual shifts in a companies underlying liquidity and profitability it is no wonder the markets are so volatile.....

As much as I hate EA I can't see them going anywhere. The only thing that keeps them from going bust is their marketing team... They know how to hype crap games.

Other than mass effect (they purchased bioware some time ago) they have no good games. The last good game they released imo was need for speed underground.

So did a large number of other companies in the recession.

We can't automatically attribute the 2008 dip to their performance and has nothing to do with the normal fluctuation in share price today.

I didn't say it did, just that they had a load of value wiped off and personally, I think anything bad that happens to them is well deserved.

Sadly, EA aren't going anywhere - the tons of sheep who pay £50 for the same CoD game re-hashed every 12 months will see to that.

That's activision and are arguably worse than EA. :p

I think I see a storm ah commin....

I wasn't pointing the finger, although posting in a 'Is EA going down because of their crap games' thread with how 2/3 of their share price has already been wiped out can be seen as saying 'yes'.

Likewise, I do think it's ridiculous the price they charge for the minimal effort they put in releasing a new(if you can say that) CoD game.
