The bit i need to unbend though is about 1.5cm from the end of the string though... it doesn't seem to want to stay in between things... it just slips out and almost impales me again

I cut off a chunk off the Metal Casing/stucture on my PC case so i could connect the graphics card easyer with a kitchen knife

You should have the streing chopped with in 30 mins :cool:

Stringed instruments should come with a warning sign. I've nearly had my eye put out with my violin several times, once during a recital!

As for the blood being everywhere I can fully symphasise as I had surgery yesterday to get a cyst removed from my eye and it's been bleeding several times my pillow is ruined lol.
