This is only this price because you are asking a main agent to fix it with main agent labour, as opposed to doing it yourself. Shock as Mercedes charge a lot at their dealers? :p
 
My OH's C230K Coupe had extortionate part prices also, genuinely never paid too much attention to part prices (happy with cheaper OE quality alternatives usually etc) but definitely noticed those!

911 was a similar price, when mine failed the glass dropped, so lucky it did not smash! Was £500-£600 to fix, cannot remember exactly and it did it days before I sold it, guess the car was saying you absolute ass, getting rid of me. :D
