Ouch...

Well I'm not, It's a Mercedes, what would you expect! LOL
I work with a woman who has just bought a used A class on never ending finance I cannot wait to see her reaction when she has to take it for repairs etc given that she never has a spare penny at the end of each month and she couldn't even afford 2 new tyres on her last car "a Vauxhall".

Guy at work has just swapped his Chrysler 300C for a CL 500 (2000, X plate) beautiful thing, 80k miles with full MBSH, by god he's in for a shock when something inevitably breaks!

I've repaired three window regulator mechanisms in my CLS. Cost about a tenner and an hour of my time for each one...

The fault is usually just a snapped cable that's dried out and worn from friction; you just buy the kits to replace the cable.

For that money it sounds like they replaced the entire mechanism, frame and motor :o

911 was a similar price, when mine failed the glass dropped, so lucky it did not smash! Was £500-£600 to fix, cannot remember exactly and it did it days before I sold it, guess the car was saying you absolute ass, getting rid of me. :D
The regulator (if its the same one as used in the 996) is only £125 from ECP. Did you have yours fixed at an OPC?
