After careful experimentation with the latest BIOS from Asus, Overclockers UK are proud to relaunch the Rampage Extreme i7 930 4.2GHz bundle.

The latest BIOS has allowed us to achieve 4.2GHz on a consistent and reliable basis, offering our customers unparalleled 'out of box' performance.

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz @ 4.20GHz Max / Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 Motherboard / Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle @ £719.99 inc VAT

Representing the cream of the crop of today's bleeding edge performance hardware, OcUK's 'Extreme Bundles' are selected to satisfy the needs of the most demanding enthusiast. Available with three different levels of overclock your ideal bundle is just one option away.

This is our fastest bundle to date! We take full advantage of the Asus Rampage II Extreme capabilities by pushing the chip to its limits, ensuring you have the fastest hardware on the planet.

OcUK Overclocked Bundles feature carefully selected components tested to assure compatability & stability, guaranteeing the integrity of the overclock.

We worry about the fiddling and tweaking, you just enjoy the performance.

This bundle ships pre-built and pre-overclocked direct from our Technical Department. All you need to do is attach the CPU cooler and power it up.

- Maximum Speed
- Maximum Stability
- Maximum Compatibility
- Maximum Overclocking

This Bundle contains the following components:

1 X Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz overclocked up to 4.20GHz!
1 X Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
1 X Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz DDR3 Memory
1 X Prolimatech Megahalems Performance CPU Cooler (Socket 775/1366)
1 X Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent 120mm Fan - 4 Pin PWM
1 X Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound

Note - This bundle will take upto 4 working days to complete and be tested. This is due to the fact not all processors will run sustainably at 4.20 Ghz and chip yields will vary week to week.

Note - All Bundles are built and installed on demand and usually ship within 48 hours of the order being placed. During exceptionally busy periods this time can increase by 48 hours.

Note - The Rampage II Extreme motherboard is one of the largest available and will overhang the last risers on your motherboard tray, please ensure you have enough room in your case before ordering.

Note - The bundle operates above manufacturer specifications, as such it requires a quality power supply to operate with guaranteed stability. OcUK recommend a quality brand PSU for use with all our bundles such as the Corsair TX & HX range.

Note - Updating the BIOS on the overclocked bundle range will void the warranty on the overclock. If you update the BIOS we will no longer be able to provide support for configuring and maintaining the CPU overclock.

Only £719.99 inc VAT.

oh my word! One question. Do you give an overclock guide these bundles? Ive seen some reviews where people have got these guides.

I had ordered 3 bundles in the past 5 months and the oc failed on one so i could have done with a guide. I have a stuttering problem so i try to avoid the phone :P

Nice bundle . well done

Hi,

People dont necessarily receive a guide, in some occasions we may send you a bios profile or talk you through the settings this is how ever done by a case-by-case basis and must be initiated through our webnote system or through our custom service forum.

Phil

If not all chips run at 4.2ghz does that mean you are then selling these 'inferior' chips on - or what happens to the slower chips?

If OC cherry pick the best chips for these overclocks does it mean that buying an OEM chip has more chance of getting a less overclock

Well not every CPUs are created equally, and some batches of CPUs are better than others.

This is what separates some i7s from others. The "B" batch of the 920s were typically better than the A batches, and the earlier they were made, the better for the most part.

Hi

Meticadpa, as you can imagine we have a lot of 930's at our disposal as we keep a lot in stock, very often these are from different batches.

All bundles go through something called "batch testing" and as the name describes we will pick several cpu's from all the different batches we have at our disposal and test them at the desired speed we wish to run at.

With our new bios profile we did just this and found all batches of CPU's we have could currently at 4.2Ghz just fine.

Phil

At the moment, with our new profile, all CPUs are hitting the 4.2GHz.

so lets just say for arguments sake one chip fails the hit 4.2. does this go back on the shelf or b grade. i mean that chip is only gooing to have been tested for a few hours right

What are the "good" batches for the i7 930s?

I'm not too up-to-date with them, all my knowledge is on the 920s. :o

Also, out of interest, is this with HT on, or off? What multi are you using? (I'm assuming the 22x multi if you're using turbo.) What voltage? What are you using to denote stability?

To answer your scenario, we would do as all manufacturers do, if a chip fails to pass at a certain speed it is often put into a system that either

1. requires a lower speed overclock i.e 3.8Ghz
2. does not require an overclock at all

Chips would never be B graded because they dont overclock to 4.2Ghz, that would just be plain silly.

Phil

:D

Can you answer the other part of my post, please? I just edited, but you missed that. >.<

Unfortunately i cannot give that information away. Profile takes hours of work to tweak and get right.

There is how ever plenty of information freely avaliable on what does and doesn't work from other forum members, who have tried clocking the chips them selves

Oh I'm not looking for overclocking tips, I'm just looking for information on your bundle. ;)

There's a big difference between HT on and off, and whether it's Stress Testing stable or just gaming stable.

HT is always left on as it is a feature of the chip, clocking without it would be leaving a selling point out of the chip off.

It is prime tested for upto 24 hours and tested with looping game benchmarks among other things.

Phil

We would never ever open a retail box chip to cherry pick and put it back on the shelf. The security seal wouldn't be intact and customers will reject it.
