Out of the loop and don't know what to upgrade to...

Sony Ericsson Arc S is a nice size for dainty hands, I got my mum one for Christmas. Great screen on it as well.

Cheers guys, the SII is definitely too big, it's horrible just how big it feels compared to the iphone 4S, the Nokia Lumia 800 does feel ok in the hand but don't know a lot about it, is it comparable to the iphone 4S and Galaxy SII in performance and featureset?

You'll shock yourself at just how quickly you get used to the size of the Galaxy SII. Mine seems so normal now and i think the iphone is small. Especially the screen, it looks so tiny now!

A nice size for dainty hands? If he thinks the Galaxy S II is 'huge', he'll find the Arc huge as well.

The Arc feels a lot smaller in the hand than the S2. It's not a great deal bigger than the iPhone, the iPhone is bezeltastic.

It sits between the S2 and the iPhone basically when it comes to width which is what matters in the hand.

He will still think it's huge. I think he's being silly though and would get on fine with a 4.3" device if he gave it a chance.

That comparison is misleading though as the Arc is quite a tall phone still, but you don't feel that while holding it.

Op have a try of the lumia, see if you like the OS. As you say its not a fiddlers phone and just the right size imo (I have huge hands but think 4.3" screens are huge). Try the Zune software, its really nice but you can bypass it for mostl things on the lumia tbh (with SkyDrive etc.)

its not as powerful as the S2 but the doesn't need to be due to the OS, the lumia will probably still be smoother than it even with the "inferior" internals, really depends of you are after useability or just raw specs.

Useability really, I aren't a big enough phone fan to wanna just go for the best specs.

As long as its quick, reliable and straight forward to use I'll be happy, thanks for the advice :)

I'm gonna watch some youtube video reviews of it before bed in a sec whilst I've got a spare half hour to help me make my mind up.

That link is useful re: phone size Robbo, cheers!
