**** Outcast - A New Beginning ****

Interesting, so does the demo do shader comp at the start? the full game does, this might explain the demo stuttering.

Yeah that's the thing, it did. Yet it was playing as if it hadn't, was getting heavy drops without a lot going on, pop-in but not the object, the shadow on it.
If I can be bothered I should try going to the same areas again and see if it improves.

Probably not worth it, as good as the rest of the game is, it all amounts to nothing if the character you are in control of feels and moves with such disconnect :(

Paid the lower cd seller site prices...makes me feel thats about what it's worth.
Totes agree with mrk's review.
It all feels a bit consoley (which is a swear word in my house)

Gave the demo 10 minutes, not a scooby what the hell is happening but it seems fun. Could well be one of those games you stick on for 30-45 mins for a blast a bit like I used to do with Just Cause or Mercenaries.

hi can anyone tell me why it kicks me out and restarts the computer as soon as I go to start a mission. I play a lot of last grade AAA games. the computer works perfectly low temperature. i have b450. Ryzen 7 3800x. ram 32 3600. psu 650w. RX 6600. i have tried everything but nothing unfortunately. the event log does not have time to record anything.thanks in advance

The original game was very "consoley" almost before that was really a thing. It has always got in the way of me enjoying games like this.

This version of the game reminds me a lot of Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 for some reason.

10 hours in, I love it. It does lack some cool stuff from original like navigation without quest markers with talans procedurally being able to give directions - here, you just get quest markers - but all the important stuff - writing, exploration, gameplay, music - is great. It is particularly nice compared to agressively mediocre Avatar from Ubisoft, which may have had better graphics, but that is about the only thing that game had going for it.
Outcast has actual personality.
And frankly, it looks gorgeous too, while running at rock solid 60 with no stutter or framepacing issues (PC).
I just wish we could customize HUD more.

Really enjoying this so far. Looks great, runs decently at 4K, mostly 70-80fps. First game I’ve seen to use all available VRam. The only thing it is seriously lacking is HDR.
