Hi All

A collegue of mine had a problem with her pc this morning when it suddenly crashed. When she restarted, it seemed to be ok apart from one folder in her inbox which refused to open.

She continued working on other things on a shared calendar.

Someone from the IT Department came along a few minutes ago to check the problem out. It seems he pointed outlook in the right direction for the ost file, which sorted out the problem with the inbox folder however all the work she has done during the day (numerous appointments in the calendar) have all disappeared.

The IT Department have told her that none of what she has done will be saved anywhere which obviously she is fuming about.

Is this likely to be the case or will Outlook have created a new OST file when it failed to find the one on the network, and if so might the changes be saved in there?

If this is the case, can she open the new ost file, export the calendar and then import it into the calendar when Outlook has the correct ost file open?

Anyone any thoughts or experience with this?

Do you guys not have Exchange there? I assume not if you're relying on the .OST files.

As Halfmad says, the work is probably gone. You could try searching her appdata folders etc. Perhaps it wasn't overwritten.

We do have exchange here but I don't really know how they have it setup, or even quite what the IT guy did to 'fix' the problem.

I figured it's pretty likely that he work would have been lost but always worth asking incase there is anything obvious that might sort things out.
