Can anyone tell me how to stop OE from " sleeping " ( cant think of a better word )

If theres no activity happening on my PC, say i leave for 10 minutes or so, if i then go to OE to do something , like delete any messages i've received while away, the thing takes ages to start working. The HDD starts whirring and i have to wait for the action to happen.

Its a lot worse when i first boot up. Once the desktop has loaded, it can take another 30 seconds + to open OE and collect messages. If i'm constantly active on the PC , i dont get the problem...its only when i leave the PC for XXX amount of time

Check your power settings, see if the hard drive is set to power down after X minutes.

Hi there - checked power options and settings are :

Under ' power schemes' tab:

home /office desk - turn off monitor / 20 mins
Hard disc - never
System standby - never

Under ' advanced ' tab :

Nothing checked

Under ' hibernation ' tab :

Nothing checked

Thats it really :)
