I use Outlook at work - one of the features I use a lot is the calender.

I can access a web version from my house, but is there anyway I can sync the calender from work to a copy of outlook on my own PC?

ok thanks

i can access webmail via ms exchange

so thats a good sing

i thin kthe outlook they use is 2003 whereas mine is 2007 - will that be an issue?

how does it sync?

if my work one is 'on' all the time do i sync from home and it updates them both or do i have to do something from the work end? but my home pc isnt always on.. (esp when i am at work!)

What Over Clocker said. Do that.
Doesn't matter which version of Outlook you use at either end - both are pointing to the one Exchange database anyhow, they are handling the same data.

There is no 'sync' because both your Outlook's are pointing to the one place - your server at work. Changes made at one computer will appear on any other computer that happens to be accessing your Exchange account. The only thing that has to be left on all the time is the server :)

computer says no!

actually the tech guy at work says no - apaprently due to security and such its not possible - ididnt mention rpc or antyhign tho.

i'll give him a call tomorrow tho and see what the deal is

as an alternative i have my mobile (nokia s60 smartphone) with wifi and my work has wifi - i coudl always have that act as a go between !

Your tech guy sucks. Security my anus. Employ me.

Load of tosh! RPC over HTTP is a secure way of communications for the Exchange system! Plenty of bigger holes in poorly setup Exchange systems!

Employ my company to sort it out!

lol - are you IT lot really that desperate for work? :p

I'll have a word tomorrow! Its a pretty large organisation and we have a in-house IT dept.

Its all done with tickets liek you get with online shops - I could always raise another one but I dont want to all to end up with our Outlook expert who just gives me the same answer again, lol

apparently staff who have PDAs can access the info and update their calneders that way - surely it must be using a similar system??

i am guessign i will have to fork out for one of these pdas and it will be way above my payscale for being free i imagine if they supply them
