In two minds on this one.

it may turn out to be great but it does look like a low budget Destiny 2/Anthem clone.

On the other hand the devs are obviously very confident/proud of their product given the amount of videos/info they are banging out- including a demo.

Pity its been delayed.

no pre order needed eh.

Cant log in, just stuck on authenticating. Doesnt matter the developer, doesnt matter the game, nobody ever seems to be prepared for launch when it comes to servers.

30 fps in cut scenes and when talking to an NPC also no way to turn the very heavy motion blur off.

Character creation is also very limited. Its third person so matters more than Cyberpunk.

Then I got disconnected and no quit option to get out of the endless reconnect loop - we are told this is the finished game so my initial impression hasnt been very positive but will give it another go tomorrow.

Still can't log in, even though they said on their Twitter page that they've scaled up the servers and everyone should get in now lol will give it a couple or more tries then leave it until tomorrow if it doesn't work.

Got in now, played through the tutorial and got to the base hub. Actually not too bad on initial impressions, feels like a cross between Division and Destiny. Not entirely sold so far on it being worth 49.99 but maybe 34.99 would be a good price, will play some more later but first I need to play some Breathedge and some more Valheim :)

runs well, but the amount of cut scenes is way over the top. I'm guessing some are hiding loading screens but having a cut scene for just opening a door is madness.

Some of the enemies seem fun and the abilities make it interesting. Seems it will be a hub based mission game which im not really a fan of though.

And yes that bloody motion blur when running is annoying but apparently there will be an option to turn it off in the final version.

Played for about 30 mins. Initial impressions; too many cutscenes, doesn't look that great considering it's set to ultra acceptable gameplay. If it plays nice in MP I suspect I'll play a fair bit of it, but feel like I could quite easily leave it right now also.

ah cool, was wondering if you’d got in

Also played the demo, found the motion in cutscenes to be very jarring.

Kept trying to move around angled cover like in The Division, seems you can only move along a straight edge bit of cover?

Just played the prologue, will give the main game world a spin over the weekend.

I forgot the demo was out! That's my morning sorted.

Hope the motion blur can be turned off via config files, I get motion sickness with what I already have.

Edit: Can't seem to install from the MS Store, only shows the option to install on the Xbox One X, but I sold that...

Ohhh it's Steam.

To get rid of Motion Blur, DoF, Chromatic Aberration:

%LocalAppData%\Madness\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Open Engine.ini and GameUserSettings.ini, copy the following into BOTH at the bottom and save and mark as Read Only.

[SystemSettings]
r.MotionBlurQuality=0 // Gets rid of motion blur
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0 // Gets rid of chronomatic aberration
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 // Gets rid of DoF
r.FastBlurThreshold=0 // Gets rid of more blur stuff
r.BlurGBuffer=0 // Gets rid of more blur stuff
