Outriders

I don't think it's worth £60 to me but am tempted but maybe a week after launch.

They're fixing forced 30fps cutscenes and motion blur. They couldn't not...

I enjoyed the demo overall. I maxed out a Devastator and the powers were fun. The class heals with kills at close range and so it was almost always better to attack if I had ammo.

I only went into cover in the 'wide' open sections and not often. It was enough to simply walk behind a pillar when needed. Moving in/out just didn't feel smooth. I think Gears has spoiled us for cover movement.

The guns seemed fine but I didn't always know where my bullets were going. Point blank full auto into a bosses head and I was going off the damage numbers, not bullet impacts.

I was impressed by some of the quality of life stuff. They've pulled some of the right things from other games and implemented them well.

I'm disappointed the demo didn't show any end game or even mid game. The Truck, is that going to be cosmetic only?

Progression is key. If end game bullet spongy madness it won't be fun for me.

I picked it up for 30 quid from cdkeys. Enjoyable enough demo, the combat is fun but certain levels of jank with respect to movement and cover mechanics hoping bit of polish will improve that. Performance drops as well but again hoping that will be addressed come release. Glad they are sorting the 30fps cutscenes as that was my biggest gripe.

I'm using a Pyromancer with the death turret or whatever it is called, tons of fun I'm having with this.

Only downside is the cover mechanism seems hit or miss, sometimes pressing space to cover won't actually put me in cover.

now that I did the motion blur fix i'm having more fun with it but i agree the cover is hit and miss at times.

What little I have played so far I am finding it completely "meh" tbh. Too many cut scenes (in engine but 30fps... I understand this is being addressed but why is it even a thing in the first place?!) and, so far at least, dull as dishwater gameplay. Powers and underlying skill trees look cool (playing the Pyro class) but right now I am not really feeling it. Additionally I would echo other comments about the cover being really hit and miss. The inability (may have missed this to be fair) to move from cover to cover is also quite jarring.

Game runs smooth enough on a 2070S at 3440x1440 (50-70fps) but looks somewhat flat considering everything is on Ultra.

Would be playing more right now but got kicked mid mission and now just endlessly loops on reconnect *yay*

Also, why do I have to link to a SE account I don't want?! Just **** off!

Also, Also... No ******* ability to put Pigtails on my character....seriously game. 0/10! (This is somewhat tongue in cheek but anyone who has played Destiny (2) with me knows what I mean here... :p)

I think there's a lot of things done well but it also feels a bit off, iffy, janky in combat. There's something there that's not quite right. I've played 2mins with the ini file changes and they have made a huge difference for the better.

My thoughts in general as somebody who has been following this for a while. It's clearly more a third person borderlands (i.e. drop in drop out co-op single player focused game) than Destiny/Div and other live service games and has been pitched as such so I think anyone going in with the view it will be like the latter need to reset expectations.

In terms of my initial thoughts having completed the demo:

- As I mentioned above movement and cover system are a bit janky especially the latter as seems to be hit and miss as to whether I engage with cover. I think the movement may be a function of some weird controller hangover i.e. different axis sensitivity but haven't looked into it yet, it's not quite as fluid as GOW or other TPS games and definitely needs tightening.
- Guns are a tad lightweight wish they had a bit more impact and I think for me this is primarily sound related as the animations are decent enough and npc reactions to bullets are there.
- Skills and skill tree look comprehensive so should allow for build diversity which is great, I also like that guns and armour provide skill synergies which is a big plus in my book.
- The classes all feel distinct and fun in their own right. I generally roll tank classes in traditional rpgs and mmos so I quite like the devastator.
- Combat is fun, the skills themselves are all impactful and I like they aren't all on long cooldowns.
- Cutscene fps and shaky cam footage is horrendous but at least the former is being fixed for launch. I'm less bothered about voice acting etc but story is pretty standard fare and actually reminds me a lot of anthems story for those that have played it. I'm not expecting anything massive from this on the story front, as long as its passable and engaging enough to fill the time between combat and loot loop then that's good enough for me.
- Given its the early levels I'm sure enemy and map variety will be far more varied (and from videos I've watched that does seem to be the case) but I would like more open span levels.

Me and a mate have preordered for £30 as it's worth a punt at that price and both of us enjoy these types of games. I've given up on Destiny and Div 2 so want to fill a looter shooter void even if it's only for a month or two.

Played another couple of hours - not bad but not brilliant either. All a bit generic and bland really.

Level design is very poor - complete with ridiculous "cover" boxes dotted about for no other reason than to hide behind.

Loot and skills seem well done, as is the world tier system.

Maybe end game will make this game - but otherwise can see it fading away pretty quickly.

I was going to buy but realise now I have little interest in playing it any further.

The guys I played with did have a few connection issues. And one of the errors did say you couldn't join someone who owned the full game, even with all of us on the demo.

I also got stuck joining a game as the friend's game had crashed. I had to kill the game as the progress bar eventually simply froze.

I'd love for them to add a high level section into the demo. Need to really see how all the powers synergise (I think they will do that well) but more importantly, how bullet spongy things are.

Is DLSS enabled in the demo?

You can optimize it through Geforce experience which will turn on DLSS but don't it turns off AA and it make the game look terrible.

I made that mistake and had to go through the engine files and edit the graphics file to turn it back off.

Anyway long story short no its not lol.
