Outriders

many games have problems with DX12,while others not.I played Div 2 in DX12 without problems, but im having issues in Outriders. Some friends dont have DX12 issues at all.Hit and miss.
That being said,in Tier 15,and some Expeditions are hard, some for normal mortals will be impossible solo, even with best min/maxed gear. But i like it
Today i had no issues at all, which is something nice after first few days of server madness

Sigh

Another day, another game release, another load of bugs. Getting a crash whenever I use DX12 at the moment "out of video memory". Running a 2080Ti so there's definitely no issues, been monitoring it too and never gets close to 100%. Loads of people reporting the same issue all other reddit etc. If I run in DX11 it doesn't crash, at least not yet. However the gameplay is nowhere near as smooth as with DX12.

So tired of developers releasing unpolished products. I do think it's one of the main reasons I find myself gaming less and less each year.

It’s even worse when the same bugs and crashes exist on games that were released years ago, and were never fixed. Metro Exodus is one that springs to mind. They are bringing out a free update soon which won’t fix the already broken parts. It boils my ****.

The weirdest thing, Diabotical seems to be flawless on DX12. Yet we've got AA/AAA developers that cannot make it work. Sadly Massive rarely fixes crucial game breaking bugs with their game.

At least the developers of Outriders is trying to sort it and not hiding away.

Whenever I alter graphic settings, exit and come back to the game, I have to change the graphic settings back again because it doesn't save. Is there a way to make it so it DOES save?

I caved today and bought this.
Absolutely loving it! Hit level 17 and been doing all the side quests and stuff.
Shotguns need some serious TLC.
Performance wise, I have had no issues with DX12 and I believe I missed the server issues that plagued the game the previous few days!

All in all, this is the kinda mindless run around loot and shoot I have been looking for :D

I might pull the trigger. Main thing that’s geld me back so far, is people saying that the console versions perform better that the pc. How have you found the FPS especially?

Honestly I haven't been monitoring my FPS entirely to be honest.
Playing it maxed out on DX12.
Specs:
2600X, 3080 and 16Gb 3200 at 1440p.

Honestly, The game feels really smooth and easily enjoyable, I have had the odd moment where it drops FPS where i can feel it but otherwise, the game runs really well to be honest.

It does look fun. That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day.

FPS is solid for me when DX12 is working. I run maxed everything with DLSS on quality and never get any noticeable drops, playing on 1440P monitor. However DX12 is currently causing my game to crash, regardless of settings, so having to use DX11. That isn't quite as smooth, which is frustrating but at least I can play.

Running 64GB RAM, AMD Threadripper 3970x (with half the cores disabled because loloutriderslol), 2080Ti and installed on large SSD.

Doesn’t sound too bad. Just been a lot of complaints about it running worse on pc. I might as well give it a go.

cheers.

These things fixed my "out of video memory issues"
  • In steam launch options use -force -d3d11
  • Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Madness\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and delete GameUserSettings.ini
I also rolled back to the last Nvidia driver, although this may not be necessary.

Running an i7 9700k, 16gb and a 2080ti I've had no issues beyond some stuttering on the opening developer logo animation. It's installed on an nvme, but not sure that makes much of a difference. Loving the game, but feels like more fun when played with friends rather than solo

I have only been playing the demo of the game but no issues here either.

specs are 16gb of ram, I7 9700k at stock, 2070S and Samsung 970 Evo nvme 1tb for storage.

Server issues seem to be over now. Just some bugs to iron out, such as black screen and a freeze when trying to travel by truck, and QoL improvements like precise map markers or just a North on the minimap.
Once all that's done I'll be happy to call this a brilliant game. I haven't felt like any game I've played in some time has had such a solid level of difficulty where you can flip from I'M A GOD to I'M A SQUISHY LITTLE BABY every few seconds

Also would say the occasional stuttering is an issue that needs fixing ASAP. Hate when I'm moving my mouse to point at an enemy and it suddenly skips

Touch would no issues here apart from the occasional stutter. Would not say it was a great game as it it is what I tend to call a rinse and repeat game as all areas require you to do exactly what you did in the last area. But that oes not mean I am not enjoying it though I doubt it has any replay value.
I do like the ability to step down the difficulty level if things are a bit difficulty for me though I am not doing this as often as I expected to do.

More games should have this feature as it lessens the frustration I have often suffered with my reactions not being as quick as as they once were.:D

A possible fix / help with stuttering is to turn off "Game Log" in the Hud options.

This Log is the text that appears in the top right under the party bars that shows drops people get.

I might try the long range class next. Did the demo with the middle range class but found I enjoyed sniper rifles so much more.
